So much is happening legislatively on health related issues. Lobbyists for the pharmaceutical, pesticide, chemical, dairy, food, grocery and biotechnology industries are working constantly to shape laws in their favor. Harminization with the World Trade Organization's Codex Alimentarius Commissiom, the North American Union preparation and other international trade agreements keeps moving forward law by law. Parental rights are being trumped by some allopathic doctors, public schools and goverment. A government that believes that it not you knows what is best for your children. A government that acts as if it has absolute power and that your children are the property of the government. If we act in mass our legislators will listen. This is the lesson of DSHEA (Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act of 1994). It takes citizens actively contacting their legislators. The time to become active is now! Alternative health care options, health food, organic food, supplements, vitamins, minerals and parental rights are all at stake. This is not a cake-walk, it will take time and effort. It's critical that we get engaged in this effort now!
Become dedicated, regularly check organizations of interest below for updates and for action that needs to be taken. Bookmark the "Organizations" link and/or consider using Opera web browsers Speed Dial or Personal Bar. Sign-up for E-mail and newsletters where offered - keep informed. Sign the petitions and call your legislators office. Let them know the name and number ie: HR 2117 of the legislation, what your position is. Calling is important you probably will not get to talk to your legislator but be sure to leave a message. Always be polite courteous and to the point. Keep a journal and note the petitions signed and legislation you have acted on. If a piece of legislature is dropped then brought back, start over and re-contact your legislators. Many of the resources below have made it easy for you to comment on individual bills and have comment letters you can use, and add your own comment to if you wish. This makes it easier to keep informed and to Take Action!
